Becoming the “early birds” has totally transformed our homeschooling lives as well 🙂 Children are way more productive and learn so much better in the early hours of the morning. I feel that I finally have things back under control, house wise, and yet am also getting all those schooling things and meals done on time too without it dragging out all day 🙂 It’s true that “the early bird gets the worm”. Thanks for sharing!
Oh my goodness, you don’t know how happy this makes me! I’m so honored that my post got you thinking about this, and so happy that it’s transformed your life. Isn’t it wonderful? One thing I didn’t mention in the post but that your vlog got me thinking about, is that when I write in the morning it’s actually liberating, because I no longer spend the rest of the day feeling like I should be writing, or that I still need to reach a certain word count—it’s already done! And that frees up my mind and thoughts to truly be in the moment, which further fuels my writing.
This really made my day. (And your kitchen looks beautiful, by the way.)
Might have to give this a try. I’ve always had Early Bird envy. 🙂 They always seem to have a jump on the day unlike us Night Owls.
Best,

You are so darn cute. And the funny thing is that I made this transformation WITH you – the same week, in fact – without knowing it. I’ve been rolling out of bed with hubby at 5:15 and walking, sleeping dirt still in my eyes, right into his ham shack to research for 1.5 to 2 hours (however long I can and still be able to get outside and run before it’s too hot). It DOES change the way you feel about the whole day, doesn’t it? I’ve done it before with success, but had fallen away and was getting angry with myself for not getting more accomplished during the day, so decided to start it up again. Success! And who knows … maybe Natalia’s post was the catalyst for me, too, speaking silently to my subconscious?
I’m so glad I read that blog post of yours, Natalia; it really has transformed my days. So grateful! And thanks for the comment about the kitchen. Adelaide was asleep; that’s why the house was clean! 😉
I’ve always been a perennial early riser and love writing first thing in the morning — for all the reasons, you say, isn’t it fabulous? And it really worked well when the kids were young. Happy early morning 🙂

I agree. I looove getting up early. My problem is I have to work on not getting distracted at night.

I know, right? I’m trying my best to join the other ranks, but in the morning I’m still not very perky! 😉

I do the same thing, Juju. Get distracted at night, stay up later than I intend, then I have a hard time getting up. Good intentions, though. 🙂

Seems like we have Natalia to thank for everything! 🙂 So glad you’re joining me, too, Melissa. It’s nice to know I’m not alone!

This is good to know, Lauren, since I’m not at that stage yet. We’ll have to see if I’m cut out for homeschooling or not….
