The Midwife Book Trailer & Giveaway!
Hello, friends!
Shew! Has it been a busy past few days, but I”m sure all of you have been busy as well. Is it the warmer weather, perhaps? Everybody coming out of hibernation and getting things done?
Either way, I am thoroughly enjoy this pre-launch nesting phase (forgive me, I”ve got babies on the brain), and I”m so eager to place The Midwife in your hands. I just received the gorgeous finished copies last week.
I had a radio interview on WHUB Thursday, which went well; it”s always slightly thrilling to have a reason to get dressed before dawn (the UPS man is used to seeing me in my bathrobe) and swinging by Starbucks like a regular career woman. ๐
Today, The Midwife had its first book signing at Foxleaf Bookstore; the rain held off just long enough for me to have the signing outside. As you”ve probably guessed by now, I love chatting with strangers.
Afterward, I received word that the book trailer for The Midwife was completed. Sophia Boyce Photography did a great job, just like she did with The Outcast, and I”m so excited to share the finished version with you!
In honor of the book trailer being here, and of The Midwife launching in less than a month, I”m giving away a copy of The Midwife and The Outcast!
Winners get to choose between The Outcast”s regular edition or the large print, hardcover edition, which just came to my doorstep today! Isn”t it beautiful? ๐
To enter, just tell me your favorite warm-weather activity.
Well, without further ado, I will leave you with the lovely book trailer by Sophia Boyce.
Sorry, the comment form is closed at this time.

Morning Jolina, I enjoyed The Outcast and would love to win a copy of your new book.
It is sunny today in North Florida after weeks of rain. As a gardener I appreciate God’s gift of preparing the soil and am rewarded everytime I see the profusion of colorful blooms! If I come to a place in writing that has me stumped I dig in the dirt…it clears my mind and I am ready to write another chapter.
Delores
jolina
Lovely, Delores! I too enjoy putting my hands in some dirt. Happy warmer weather! ๐
Loretta

Hi, Britney! I did! We’re celebrating with our families next weekend, so my husband watched our toddler and I spent the WHOLE day with one of my dear friends in another city, drinking coffee and soaking up the sun. It was very refreshing. ๐ Hugs back! jo
Beth
My favorite warm weather activity is sitting outside to read – “kidding,” haha (sort of??). In all seriousness, I like that we can go hiking and on nature trails, out to the lake, etc. It’s so much better than being cooped up inside all of the time!
Thank you for the chance to win! The Midwife is a must read for me this year!
Beth
jolina

My favorite thing about Summer is how it brings out my inner kid! Adventures and playing seems to be the norm during Summer. ๐
jolina
So true, Brittany! It’s harder to be stressed during the summer when we have such fresh air and sunshine. Enjoy!
Devin
My favorite is sitting on the beach and reading a book.
jolina
Oh, yes! Can’t go wrong with that combo!
Rhonda Cox
My favorite warm weather activity is getting outside and enjoying my many flower gardens. I live in central West Virginia, and we get plenty of snow and cold weather. So, I cherish the warm and sunny days of the other seasons. My flower beds are surrounded by stone walls or split rail fences. This year, we planted sixteen Knock Out roses as well as numerous other flowers. It should be a showy summer. My husband and I just did get most of the flowers into the ground as Mother’s Day is the guide for setting plants in our zone. Now to just get our patio furniture in place, kick back, and enjoy the show. Oops! I almost forgot. I will have to feed occasionally and water the plants, if we don’t get enough rain, but what a small price to pay for weeks and weeks of enjoyment!
jolina
Wow! That sounds like Martha Stewart magazine material. I’d love to see pictures, Rhonda! ๐
mary ellen ashenfelder
My favorite activity is spending time with my grandson Jacob. I watch him during the summer while his parents work. We have so much fun. Please accept my entry for this wonderful giveaway. Thank you.

What precious memories, Mary Ellen. I know you will cherish your time with Jacob always!

jolina
Thank you so much, Maggie. Those words mean a great, great deal. Such an honor to work with you!
Sarah Burton Winstead
Hi Jolina! Summer is always a welcome time, but this summer is going to be particularly meaningful to me. I work in the schools as a speech-language pathologist and my husband is a history teacher, As we are newlyweds, I am so looking forward to this summer off together to get to know each other better and to just have fun. Last summer, I was still in grad school, trying to plan a wedding at the same time, so it was extremely hectic. This summer is a much needed break and I pray it will be a precious and blessed time for us and our marriage.
jolina
Drink it up, Sarah; I pray it is the respite you need and more. Nothing like those sweet newlywed years, though I still consider myself partaking in them. ๐
Charity Carpenter
My favorite summer activity is laying in a hammock and reading a book. Dont get to do it often, but I often dream about it. ๐
jolina
I imagine those sweet little ones of yours make laying in a hammock and reading a little difficult, Charity. ๐ Still, one can always dream, right? Hope you’re enjoying this beautiful weather!
Sharon Bargo
Hi Jolina,
Pick me! Pick me! Haha! Looking forward to the Midwife. Loved your first book. I enjoy going up to the mountains when the weather is nice, peaceful, and serene. Hoping I can visit this year.
Thank you and hope your book gets out to many new readers – Sharon Bargo
jolina
Oh, my husband and I love the mountains, too, Sharon! We visited Montana last year and just fell in love. Hope you have a great summer!
Patricia Mascarenhas
Love your style of writing and the subject so would love a copy of your book! my favorite pastime would be going off on long drives up to the mountains or the lakes or the seashore where I can soak up nature..
jolina
I am the exact same way, Patricia. If I don’t spend at LEAST an hour outside each day with nature, I get pretty cranky. ๐ And thank you for the dear compliments!
Sheri
Of course, reading on the back porch with a cold glass of lemonade!!
jolina
Love that, Sheri! I’ll come sit with you! ๐
Saloma Furlong

El Stoltzfus
Oh Jolina, I was so excited to see that finally after long last, The Midwife is automatically going through the transaction and shipping soon on Amazon since I preordered ages and ages ago. My favorite warm weather activity is go water sliding with my children on the fabulously fun water slide my husband built us a few years ago out of leftover rubber roofing and in our front yard. I have missed you on fb. ๐ I keep forgetting I can stay caught up here.
jolina
You found me, El! So glad to see you here! I love the water slide, too, a little TOO much, it seems. I have a scar on my hip to prove it. ๐ Hope you and your sweet brood are enjoying this warmer weather.
kim
Favorite summer thing is getting together with friends enjoying the outdoors and some good conversations and a lot of laughs!
jolina
Oh, yes, Kim! I love the slower pace of summer (or at least summer nights) that encourage everyone to gather together for good food and good conversation. Hope you have many sweet moments like that!

jolina
