The Alliance Book Trailer
A few weeks ago, my friend, Jessica, came over to our farm. Jessica and I met last summer when I stopped to buy sweet corn at her adorable roadside stand. I soon discovered that Jessica is a creative soul with such an incredibly generous heart.
Jessica recently created The Yellow Farmhouse on the Hill: a blog which highlights her love for homesteading, art, from-scratch baking, vintage finds, and friendships.
Since I am pretty new to the area, and therefore have to make new connections, I sent out a message to an online community group, asking if anyone would be interested in compiling a book trailer for a modest price.
Jessica and I talked a little while later, and she said that she would be willing to do it. She had created a trailer to help promote a local private school, and this coupled with her unique eye for detail, caused me to immediately take her up on her offer.
Of course, Jessica being Jessica, she refused to let me pay, insisting that I could instead simply have her family over for supper. We had such a blast while filming the trailer. We are both stay-at-home moms, so Jessica and I were energized by the fact that we could take a few hours one afternoon and just let our creative juices flow….
I cannot thank Jessica enough for what she did for me. She has to juggle so many things, and therefore I am honored by the time she took to make my creative dream come true. To learn more about The Yellow Farmhouse on the Hill, visit Jessica’s blog, or her Facebook page.
Now…for the grand reveal!
Can you believe I cried when I first saw the video? It’s true.
I have been so touched by those, like Jessica, who have come alongside to help launch this third novel. My cousin, Sarah Detweiler of Church Street Designs, is designing a beautiful wooden plaque, featuring the verse Esther 4:14 (“Perhaps this is the moment for which you have been created”), which she will be giving away to celebrate The Alliance’s release. In addition to this, the design team Tangled Threads will be giving away a lovely, hand-dyed and designed outfit.
And that’s just the beginning! Stay around, will ya? 😉
Finally, Tennessee (and Kentucky) friends! I will be launching The Alliance at Parnassus Books in Nashville on June 3rd at 6:30 p.m. Parnassus is a beautiful bookstore and one of my “happy places”! I hope you will come say hello….I am even thinking about baking some whoopie pies with my best friend to commemorate the occasion.
Hope to catch up soon!

Yes, I can understand that you cried, its so beautiful, so personal, so utterly gorgeous. I am excited to read this new book and hope I can see you in Nashville. I put in my bullet journal right away, but because I and my flock travel with my husband 80% of the time, I cannot for sure say that I will make it. Your new website is beautiful!
jolina
Thank you, El! I love the image of you with your husband and “flock” on the road. What a precious family you have! Hope to see you soon! xo
