The Alliance Series Has BIG News!

Last Monday, after ineffectually dodging my newborn’s projectile spit-up and tucking my older daughters into bed, who were frustrated because “what was taking me so long,” I sat down on the couch with my Mother’s Milk tea and a pile of laundry and checked my email. And discovered THIS! The Alliance won the Grace Award for Speculative Fiction! 🙂

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The judges said:

This was a very enjoyable book. The use of literary techniques, together with strong, well-developed characters and an engaging premise, made for an interesting read. Unlikely partners were forced to form an ‘alliance’ of necessity, forcing readers to ask the question, ‘Would I be able to preserve my core values when faced with horror on every side?’ This story expertly demonstrates the struggles that Christians face between religious traditional practice and selfless, Christ-like spirituality. While dystopian in presentation, the author’s focus was on the budding relationship between the two mismatched main characters. The book exemplifies the difficulty in maintaining human dignity despite destruction and possible death. A sequel is anticipated.

 

 

 

 

 

 

I signed my first book contract when my firstborn daughter was twelve weeks old. Now she is five. I’ve published four books over the past five years, moved three times (twice across the country), and soon will give birth to my third daughter. In the hustle and bustle of daily life, I sometimes forget that I get paid to write novels from home. This is a dream come true! When those hard moments come (and they surely will), it’s essential to recall the work it took to reach your dreams and the memorable moments along the way.
