The Divide Cover Reveal!
Hey there, readers!
This weekend, I am a hunting widow, meaning that my husband is hunting in Wisconsin while I hold down the fort in Tennessee. Because of this, I have abandoned my to-do list (not to mention the laundry) and tried to focus on keeping our girls happy until his return. Nevertheless, we’ve got some exciting news that I just have to share, rather quickly since the girls are starting to fight as I type:
Here is the cover for The Divide —> (in case you haven’t already figured that out).
“In this gripping conclusion to The Alliance, nearly six months have passed since Leora Ebersole’s Old Order Mennonite community fled to the mountains for refuge after an attack destroyed the power grid and altered life as they knew it. Since then, Leora has watched and waited for news of Moses Hughes, the young Englischer pilot who held off invading looters long enough for everyone to escape. Unsure Moses even survived, Leora has begun to warm to the affections of Jabil Snyder, who has courted her patiently. But she struggles to see herself as the bishop’s wife, especially when she learns that Moses is alive and has now joined a local militia.
An unexpected encounter in the woods deepens Leora’s crisis, as does a terrifying new threat that brings Moses’ militia into the community’s shaky alliance with the few Englischers left among them. When long-held beliefs are once again put to the test, Leora wrestles with the divide between having faith and taking action. Just how much will her shifting landscape change her?”
No doubt I am biased, but after having to fight for this story, I am completely and utterly in love with the final result (as is my publisher, what a relief!). Thank you for your patience as you await the sequel, releasing on June 6; it will be worth it! 🙂
Also, Booklist recently selected The Alliance as their Top 10 Inspirational Fiction for 2016. Here is what they had to say:
“In Petersheim’s enthralling apocalyptic novel, an electromagnetic pulse (EMP) effectively ends life as we know it, leading members of a Mennonite community to band together with stranded Englischers.”
Well, that’s it for now. Wish me luck as I go play referee with my girls! 😉

Hi, Laura! So good to hear from you! We did have a lovely Thanksgiving with my family and my best friend’s family. Priceless memories, for sure. 🙂 Thank you for such encouragement regarding my writing. It is often so rewarding, but I will tuck your kind words away for the days when my own words don’t come so easily. Hugs back! Jolina
