Vlog Series: Overcoming Writer’s Block + iTunes GIVEAWAY!
Hello, friends!
Tomorrow I give birth to The Midwife, my second book baby, so today we prepared Burdett’s Tea Shop and Trading Company for the launch. Tickets are almost completely sold out, and we found ourselves having to rearrange tables to make more room!
Also, this week The Christian Manifesto called The Midwife “the work of a master storyteller” and gave it 4.5 stars. I’ll take it!
Now, here’s the second installment in my vlog series, during which I answer how do I find time to write and overcome writer’s block.
Plus, my husband makes a cameo appearance and shows off his Dutchy accent–all while wearing a straw hat.
Trust me, you don’t want to miss out! 😉
Extras~
Destination Amish: “My Time in a Mennonite Community” (two copies of The Midwife available, giveaway ends June 3rd)
Fresh Fiction: “Living the Dream”
“I believe that God has indeed granted me with the gift of storytelling, and I always want to use it for His honor and glory. However, I also never want to forget that I am living the dream, regardless if I’m a published author or not.”
Last, but definitely not least, my publisher is offering an iTunes giveaway in celebration of The Midwife’s launch; to read about the music that inspires my writing, you can visit this link, Crazy4Fiction.
Thank you all so much for your endless support. I couldn’t do any of this without you!
Sorry, the comment form is closed at this time.

I appreciate both your answers to today’s questions. To the point about overcoming writer’s block, I agree that it helps reduce anxiety just to know that it will pass in time. To this, I would add that I have found that when I feel blocked, it’s usually because I don’t know enough about what I’m supposed to be writing about. Sometimes it turns out I need to do a little more research on the setting, or maybe I need to dig a little deeper into my character’s motivation. Sometimes it is a puzzle just to figure out what I need…what’s missing…but once I get a handle on that, and then acquire the needed information, the creativity naturally starts to flow again.

Great addition, Katherine–thank you! Too often I just try to plug right along rather than taking the time to ponder why things aren’t flowing smoothly. Taking time to research and ponder why this is happening is always most helpful. Also, reading books helps me, too. And, yes, I love my little road trip partners! 😉

Oh, and P.S.– loved the glimpse of your hilarious hubby and darling daughter in the backseat. Too right, not to be missed! 🙂

We had such a blast, Melissa, even more fun than last year because I wasn’t so nervous. 🙂 Thanks for stopping by, friend!
